How long have you been in business?

Founded in 1985, the Baywood Design/Build Group has been growing steadily and winning awards for excellence in design and mastery of craftsmanship for nearly twenty years.
Are you properly licensed and insured?

The Baywood Design/Build Group is licensed by the Maryland Home Improvement Commission. We maintain both liability insurance and worker's compensation insurance at all times to insure that our clients are fully protected.
What is a "Design/Build" company?

A "design/build" company is a company that combines both the architectural and building construction components under one roof. A primary strength of the design build process is that it allows you to integrate the strength of an architectural firm with the pricing capabilities of a construction company. One major advantage is that we are better able to control costs to match your budget.
Is your carpentry work "subbed" out or is it in-house?

Our carpenters are employees of Baywood with a vested interest in the integrity of the project. Our people are loyal, motivated and highly skilled craftsmen who take great pride in their work and in the awards of recognition. Having carpenters as employees rather than subs also allows for a much smoother job flow and comfort level for our clients.
Do you have project managers?

Each of our jobs is headed by a project manager who is responsible for the day-to-day running of the job. They are each good listeners and effective communicators that our clients are able to comfortably interact with and feel at ease having in their homes day after day. They attentively oversee all details of the job including daily clean-up of the construction site to promote harmony and safety for you and your family.
Can you assist with financing?

We are happy to refer you to a number of local banking institutions.
How do I get a permit?

We take care of the headache of securing the appropriate building permit on your behalf and insure that the project does not exceed the building restriction line of your plat and meets with planning and zoning approval.

Is there any cost for an initial consultation?

An initial inquiry is generally followed up with a phone consultation where together we review budget considerations and scheduling timelines. We are then happy to come visit you in your home for a complementary consultation and discussion on how to turn your remodeling dreams into reality.

Can I talk to any of your past clients?

Absolutely! We are delighted to put you in touch with prior clients who generally are happy to share their experiences with you. Moreover, many of our clients take pride in inviting you into their home to view firsthand their dreams come true.
